Frontex is inviting proposals for research in the field of border management.
The European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex has launched a call for proposals for a research grant program. The aim of this program is to stimulate the impact of research and innovation on European border security by supporting projects carried out by non-profit research organizations and academic institutions in the EU and Schengen countries.
This year's call focuses on technological solutions that can help address border management challenges. Particular attention is paid to technologies related to border monitoring systems, artificial intelligence, data analysis and green technologies. Projects are expected to evolve from a technological concept to a prototype that can be deployed in real operational scenarios.
Applications are open to both single entities and consortia of up to four organizations. The maximum grant per project is EUR 60 000 and the duration of the project is between 6 and 12 months. The deadline for applications is 11 February 2025.
Full details of the call, application forms and previously funded projects can be found here.
