Lithuania-Taiwan
To foster collaboration between researchers from Lithuania and Taiwan, Research Council of Lithuania (LMT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan (NSTC) on September 22, 2023, for the funding of joint Lithuania-Taiwan scientific projects.
Application process
- Calls for proposals are published once in a year – in Lithuania and Taiwan at the same time.
- Applications for joint projects must be prepared by project leads and their institutions in both countries and submitted to LMT and NSTC (according to the terms and conditions of a call).
- The duration of research projects is 2 years.
The funding can be used for:
- Expenses related to a research project: dissemination activities, project implementation costs, visits to a partner institution in Taiwan.
- Budget for Lithuanian project lead(s) and their institution(s) must not exceed 200,000 euros for a 2-year project.
Assessment criteria and process:
- All applications are forwarded to the eligibility check by LMT and NSTC. Applications that meet the eligibility requirements are submitted for expert evaluation.
- The scientific peer review of submitted applications is carried out by both countries.
- Based on the results of the peer review, the list of projects to be funded is decided jointly.
- In Lithuania, the grant agreement of a funded project is administered by LMT.
