Personalised Medicine for Longer Life Expectancy and Better Quality of Life (Impact-driven programme)

The purpose of the Programme is to create a sustainable ecosystem of scientific and practical competences in personalised medicine in Lithuania. Its aims are to promote high-level R&D, strengthen infrastructure and expertise, support cooperation, accelerate the practical application of personalised medicine innovations, improve disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and increase patient involvement and public awareness.

For the 2026–2030 period, the Programme has two primary objectives. Research under these objectives is funded through a competitive tender process supported by the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.

Task 1. To carry out comprehensive research into the causes and mechanisms of diseases for the personalisation of disease prevention and diagnostics, as well as for the development of healthy lifestyle foundations based on the principles of personalised medicine.

Task 2. To develop and implement innovative personalised disease treatment and monitoring technologies and measures that improve treatment effectiveness and patients’ quality of life.
