11th Eurostars 3 Call Launched: Opportunity for Lithuanian Innovators to Develop International R&D Projects
The Research Council of Lithuania (RCL) invites innovative Lithuanian companies, together with higher education and research institutions and university hospitals, to participate in the 11th call of the international Eurostars 3 programme.
Eurostars is one of Europe's most popular international R&D funding programmes, supporting innovative companies in developing market-oriented products, processes and services together with partners from other countries. The programme is implemented by the international Eureka network.
Eurostars Continues to Grow in Popularity in Lithuania
Lithuanian organisations are making increasingly active use of the opportunities offered by the Eurostars programme. The growing number of applications reflects steadily strengthening collaboration between business and research, as well as the increasing involvement of Lithuanian innovators in international R&D projects.
"During the previous, 10th Eurostars 3 call, we received the highest number of applications in Lithuania's entire history of participation in the programme. This demonstrates that Lithuanian companies and research institutions are increasingly seeking international partners and recognise the programme as an opportunity to develop competitive products for global markets," says Dr Lina Kisielė, Head of the Research and Business Cooperation Unit at the Research Council of Lithuania.
During the 10th call, 35 applications were submitted in Lithuania, while 685 project applications were received internationally from 40 countries participating in the programme.
In Lithuania, applications were submitted by 35 innovative companies together with 7 higher education and research institutions. Most projects were initiated in the fields of electronics, information technologies and telecommunications, as well as industrial manufacturing, materials and transport, and life sciences.
11th Call: Key Conditions and Deadlines
International Eurostars 3 applications may be submitted from 9 July 2026 until 10 September 2026, 15:00 CEST, via the Eureka project application platform at www.myeurekaproject.org.
The application process consists of two stages. First, an international application is submitted and evaluated within the Eureka network. Lithuanian participants in projects that successfully pass the international evaluation will subsequently be invited to submit a national funding application to the Research Council of Lithuania.
Under the international call, the project coordinator must be an innovative micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) from a country participating in the Eurostars 3 programme. The project consortium must consist of at least two independent partners from at least two participating countries, at least one of which must be an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country.
Lithuanian applicants seeking national funding must also comply with the national eligibility requirements. Under the national call, the lead applicant may be a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME), while optional project partners may include higher education and research institutions, university hospitals, other SMEs and large enterprises.
Projects may last for up to 36 months, and Lithuanian partners may receive up to EUR 300,000 in funding for their part of the project. Funding is available for applied research and experimental development activities.
