OECD and European Commission Invite Researchers to Take Part in a Survey on Research Careers
What conditions shape research careers in the European Research Area (ERA)? The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), together with the European Commission, is conducting a comparative analysis of structural policies for research careers and invites researchers to participate in the first joint international survey on research careers.
The survey is being conducted as part of the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory (ReICO) initiative, which aims to strengthen evidence-based policies for research and innovation careers by collecting reliable data on researchers’ working conditions, remuneration and career development in research and development activities.
Researchers, research managers, scientists, research policy-makers, experts and other professionals are invited to take part. Respondents will be asked to share their professional and mobility experiences, describe their working environment, and reflect on their career prospects within academia or in other sectors.
The survey is anonymous and takes no more than 15 minutes to complete. Participants can access it using their ORCID account or via a personalised link sent by email.
The survey is open until 25 September 2026.
